Victorian Townhouse Reimagined
London-based practice Layzell Architects recently completed the renovation of a 4-storey home in the heart of Kensington, seamlessly blending traditional and modern design elements to create a sophisticated, cohesive interior. Central to the reconfiguration of the floor plans were several Envo internal door systems, carefully chosen to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic of the space. Among these, the Envo Slide pocket door system played a key role.
This Layzell Architects project involved the complete renovation of an existing Victorian townhouse, with a focus on reconfiguring the floor plans to create more interconnected spaces that flow seamlessly with one another. A key element in achieving this fluidity was the incorporation of the Envo Slide single pocket door system.
Our pocket door system was integral to enhancing the spatial flow within the home, enabling doors to discreetly slide into the wall when not in use. This not only saved valuable space but also facilitated a more open, airy feel throughout the house. The minimalist design of the pocket doors blended effortlessly with the home's aesthetic, ensuring that traditional architectural elements were preserved while modern design principles were introduced. The result was a carefully balanced environment where each space connected naturally to the next, contributing to a harmonious and functional living experience.
Certain rooms, especially bathrooms, needed to be as efficient as possible to make layouts and flow work well within the existing floor-plate. This lent itself to the use of a high quality, smooth pocket door system which disappeared into wall panelling when not in use. Envo’s pocket door system created an efficient but luxurious experience for this stunning London home.
