Concealed door frames or Jib doors are the perfect addition to a contemporary, minimal interior – any bulky architraves and unsightly gaps are replaced with a smooth, invisible finish. But, due to the limitations of many flush door systems, plasterwork can begin to display unsightly and costly cracks. Discover how our superior components ensure the Envo Flush system comes with a no cracked plaster guarantee!
No More Compromise with Wraparound Frames
Historically, the industry has become used to making the best of an adapted riser door frame to achieve a concealed door frame, or jib door. These functional door frames have their place in the lobby areas in the core of a high-rise building but are designed for very occasional use such as inspecting services once or twice a year, where operatives do not even enter through the opening. For doors requiring regular use (anything more than twice a year) or whereby people will actually go through the doorway, the wraparound frames are not fit for purpose and a more robust and versatile solution is required. This is because wraparound doorsets are designed to function as a cupboard or inspection chamber, not a door.
The Envo FLUSH system uniquely sits behind the plasterboard and is mechanically fastened to the structural wall, giving it great strength and integrity. This solution provides great peace of mind for both installer and specifier in comparison to a wraparound frame that is connected to the face of the plasterboard and very susceptible to failure. You will find that it is typically at the point where the skim coat fades down to 0mm on the face of the wall (at about 3-5cm away from the edge of the door) that cracks will start to appear at the weak-point. This is because the stop of the door is directly connected to the plaster – every time the door shuts, it further weakens the connection.
Envo FLUSH is different! Our rigid aluminium profiles enable a strong and proven connection between the plasterwork and frame with impact seals which absorb additional shock – these combine to assure our no crack guarantee, unique to Envo.
3D Hinges
Our 3D adjustable hinges allow for up & down, left & right, and inwards & outwards adjustment to ensure the door aligns perfectly within the frame with a 2mm gap around the perimeter of the door leaf.
Universal Frame Solution
The aluminium frame is made of a 70mm deep extrusion – this means that you will use one solution or profile regardless of the depth of your wall, even if your wall returns at 90° to the Flush face of the door. Check our drawings to see how this works. You will notice the system offers just a 2mm gap between the door and the frame.
Magnetic Latches
The innovative magnetic latches require no visible strike plates, this aides not only the overall minimal and contemporary look but also ensures there will be no friction on closure or unsightly steel strike plate extrusions protruding into the room.
The Envo Flush door system is available as a single or double door and can also be integrated with our pivoting system. You can find out more about the benefits of our Envo Flush door system and our finish options here.
