Achieving an air, light and water tight seal on external pivot doors

External pivot doors are ideal for blending the outside world with the interior space, but how can this zero-threshold look be achieved whilst providing full protection against air, light and water?

Offering a sleek, minimal, and modern solution, pivot doors are understandably gaining popularity, particularly for entryways. If you’re looking to specify a jaw-dropping pivot door you may be concerned about keeping the weather out and the heat/cool in! Envo provides a solution - pairing the innovative FritsJurgens System M+ pivot with drop-seals.

Protection against drafts and moisture is achieved through automatic drop-seals to the top and bottom of the door. For added protection drop-seals can be combined with the FritzJurgen System M/M+ flush floor plate.

The flush plates provide:

  • Tighter gaps (undercut of just 7mm)
  • No collisions
  • Plate set flush with threshold material

The flush component can be used with any threshold material including aluminum ADA sill, wood or stone thresholds, finished floors, concrete, tile, wood, and more. As the floor plate is perfectly flush, gasketing and drop-seals can easily be deployed without scraping.

The same components can be utilised for interior pivot doors, providing protection against sound and light.
